The driving model/physics on Toca are the best ive seen on previous gen consoles. although i never played forza on xbox so couldnt cp the 2.
Wonder which game will be the must have racer this year? I was certain it would be Gt5 but this is making me do a u turn. Just love the idea of being part of a story with the racing team and rivals rather than just racing for racings sake.
Forza 2 has rivals but its not as developed as this with racing teams and leagues. having to work your way up the ranks/leagues is what i loved about toca games.
I almost feel sorry for guerilla (aka killzone 2 devs) they don't have a chance if killzone 1 is anything to go by.
I'll pray for you Guerilla but i don't think even god can stop this one its innevitable that killzone 2 is gonna be steam rollered by epics gears 2 shaped juggernaught.
Hope killzone 2 manages to sell ok so Sony can get back some of the money they've invested and put it to good use this time.

I basically have the same outlook.
Last year you had a decent shooter an average racer and a fighting game without online(vf5 on the 360 has remedied this travesty) and a remake of tekken 5 up untill around christmas.
Upon which you finally got 3 great exc(all single player only "so last year!") 2 of which have no replay value, 1 of which took 6 hours to finish! And all 3 managed to not win a single award last year(not even best graphics.)
Add to that the fact all of your games were eclipse...

Now that they are sorting out the lack of rumble,psn and lack of games the ps3 will be a great buy but i think it still needs another year

Yeah i remember when pd told us that Gt4 would be online but that did not happen. Yeah very good point. i said this in a previous post. although the cars in gt look a bit more realistic than pgr4 i think in everything else pgr4 equals or supases Gt5p.Pgr4 also doesn't just concentrate on the cars.
It has weather,damage,8 beautifully modelled massive cities with various tracks, custom track maker,custom paint jobs and bikes. I personally prefer having a few more game play features to add longevity then extra polygon car models but thats me.

Yeah very good point. Resistance takes up 22 gb of a 25gb blueray. Crysis/gears on the other hand fitted onto dvd .
This is because Sony use an old MPEG 4 vidoe codec to compress the video and sound infact it is half as effective as those used for pc and 360 games.

That is all it comes down to really. I find it pretty funny to that they hate things on a console they'll never own.
I also remember them hating on practically every 80+ game that was exc to 360 last year unless they had to give it props due to critical acclaim.Guess some people like to hate on things because they don't have them.

PGR 4 is alot of fun but so is Gt4 and forza 2 i suppose it depends what you want from a racer.
@first knight I have pgr4 and its a beautiful game but anyone with eyes can see that Gt5 looks almost real. Graphically Gt5 is a bar above but that is not the only thing that counts toward making a great game.
There is also the fact that Pgr4 sacrificed some graphical flair to include weather which no other console game has.It also has a damge model to some degree. There is also the custom paint jobs you can apply.
I suppose it comes down to what you want from a game...
Completely agree this article raise valuable points for discussion unfortunately anything negative towards the ps3 is swept under the table or rubbished on this site.
